Glass Carafe with Swiss Pine Sphere

Zuccari calls it Sfera Aromatica di Cirmolo con Caraffa. A one-litre glass carafe with a solid Swiss pine sphere on top, seven centimetres across. The sphere closes the carafe and lends the water a delicate note of wood through the air.

How to use it

Fill the carafe with fresh water and set the sphere on top, keeping the wood out of direct contact with the water. Leave it to stand for at least an hour, with the natural knots facing down. The longer it stands, the clearer the note.

Care

The sphere stays fragrant for a very long time on its own. To refresh it, moisten it briefly under running water every six months and let it air-dry for about thirty minutes. Do not put it back on the carafe while damp — it can suction itself in place.

The timber comes from the upper Schnals Valley and seasons for 18 to 24 months before it is turned. From the Cirmolo Relax Alpino range by Zuccari.

Material: All our products are made from solid Swiss pine (Pinus cembra), which grows in the Schnals Valley at an altitude of 1,700–2,000 m – untreated and natural, so that the beneficial Swiss pine scent can unfold freely. Textile products such as pillows are filled with selected fabrics and hand-planed Swiss pine shavings.

Wood care: Wipe your Swiss pine item with a dry or slightly damp cloth – please do not soak and do not put it in the dishwasher. Rinse cutting boards briefly with warm water after use and let them dry thoroughly. If the scent fades after years, simply lightly sand the surface with fine sandpaper – and the Swiss pine will smell like new again.

Cushion & textile care: Wash the cover gently if necessary. Occasionally fluff up the Swiss pine flakes inside and air out the cushion; the filling can be renewed after about 1.5 years with our refill pack.
